Good food to go is the mission of Albert Heijn To Go. Our mission was to create an app that helps you make healthy food decisions by offering good food deals at the right time and place.
Would you download an app for a free coffee?
Well that's what others did. To incentivise users to download the app we launch the app promoting it in store by offering a free coffee. This also served to teach the users the flow of the app, how to claim deal and collect rewards.
Overlayed UI to onboard users
In order to speed up the app startup for users on the go the onoarding process was overlayed ontop of the UI to get the users to interact and learn the app on first use.
Telling the sotry behind the food
Albert Heijn has a very rapid process from concept to product. This allows them to experiment and be creative with their sortiment. They also strive to create food that is a better alternative to fast food. By telling stories behind the food we took the users behind the scenes.
Rewarding loyalty
To encourage users to use the app even if no deals matched the users preferences we created the opportunity to save for free common items such as coffee and fruit.
